Monday, March 16th is now a 2-hour Early Release

We seem to be having some issues with our phone messages. Here are the details from tonight's message.

First, and foremost, school will still operate on Monday, March 16th. However, students will report on time and will be released two hours early.

We believe it is important to have this day with students so we can finish preparing them for an extended break from school. Governor DeWine has said that the three-week closure will likely not be enough for schools. We are operating under the assumption that tomorrow will be the last day of school we have for an extended period of time. We want to make sure that all students go home tomorrow with their supplies, workbooks, books, and materials needed to complete school at home. All students will clean out their lockers and desks tomorrow.

The early release will allow us to have time tomorrow evening to distribute necessary supplies to students.

  • Any student in grade 3-8 who needs a Chromebook computer while they are away from school will need to pick it up from Greeneview Middle School between 3 and 7 PM tomorrow. Forms will be sent home with students tomorrow at school and the parents must sign those forms in order for the students to receive the computer. If you need a device but did not receive a form, you can still come and pick up a device. We will have forms on site.
  • We are working on arranging home wifi access for those who have a need. There are several free resources available through Comcast and Spectrum but we will also have more information on mobile hotspots in the next week. High School students may bring home permission forms for hotspots tomorrow. If you receive one of those forms, the device may be picked up from the Middle School from 3-7 PM tomorrow.
  • Families who have requested food can come to Greeneview Elementary between 3 and 7 PM tomorrow to pick up bags of food. This will be the food we provide for school-age children for the first two weeks as we work through other school breakfast and lunch options in the weeks to come.

We appreciate all you have done to volunteer your time and resources to support our families during this time. This is a major inconvenience for families and we are committed to supporting each other in many ways as we get through this together. Please reach out to your principal or the Superintendent's office if you have needs and we will work to get you connected with available resources.

We have created a page under For Parents on our website and we will update that page with information and resources. It is titled "COVID-19" and is under the For Parents tab.
