Governor DeWine Mandates masks for all K-12 students

We have updated our Face Covering Protocols in order to comply with Governor DeWine's K-12 student mask mandate. The order issued on August 4th now requires all students to wear a face covering throughout the school day.  Face coverings must cover an individual's nose, mouth and chin. Face coverings can be a paper or cloth mask, a gaiter, or a plastic face shield. Exemptions to the face covering requirement will only be made where it is permissible by state regulations. Families will be asked to provide documentation of these acceptable exemptions.

We understand that these changes may result in families choosing a different educational option for their children. If you would like to choose a different educational option, please log back into OneView https://greeneview.esvportal.com/ . You will want to click on the blue button that states "Submit & View Online Forms". Then click "Student Demographics and EMA" link under the back to school forms. You should be able to modify your Educational Options selection. If you experience difficulties then please email feedback@greeneview.org with your child's name, grade, and which educational option you wish to select.

We will make an effort to provide opportunities for face covering breaks throughout the day. Staff will be encouraged to consider taking classes outside, where face covers will not be required. Staff may also provide breaks in the classroom as long as strict physical distancing is adhered to during those moments. Face coverings are not required for outdoor recess, while eating in the cafeteria, during outdoor learning activities, during rigorous physical activity, or during activities or locations where the use of a face covering interferes with the educational activity.

Parents will be required to provide face coverings for their own children. We anticipate that one cloth mask will be provided to students through the health department, according to the August 4th announcement by Governor DeWine. Disposable, paper masks will be on hand in the buildings for students to use should their mask become soiled or if they lose their mask. We will not provide a paper mask daily to students. A collection of Greeneview masks and gaiters may be purchased through an online store through August 15th. These masks are high-quality and come in adult and youth sizes.  https://greenviewmasks2020.itemorder.com/sale

Families should begin working with their children now to practice wearing face coverings to determine which style will be most comfortable during the school day.
