Directory Information (O.R.C.) 3319.321)
The district designates the following personally identifiable information contained in a student’s education record as “directory information.” It discloses that information without prior written consent, except for a profit-making plan or activity. Such information includes:
  • student’s name
  • telephone number(s)
  • address
  • date and place of birth
  • major field of study
  • participation in officially recognized activities and sports;
  • student’s height and weight, if a member of an athletic team;
  • dates of attendance (“from and to” dates of enrollment);
  • date of graduation awards received.
Parent/guardian(s) may contact the Districts to request that the school not release any of the above information about the student. Senate Bill 26 requires Ohio Public Schools to release directory information on sophomores, juniors, and seniors to armed forces recruiters. However, a student’s parent/guardian/custodian may submit a written request to the school district that the information not be released.
