Teaching & Learning
As a district, we prioritize our work into three categories: facilities, efficient operations, and effective teaching and learning. To the right, you will find a symbol that encompasses these tenets, as well as others, that all contribute to serving students.
Teaching and learning is not just about reading and math; a positive school climate bolsters students’ readiness to learn. By considering the whole child – and fostering interpersonal skills, social awareness, and responsible decision-making – we can develop schools focused on engagement, well-being, and belonging.
Below you’ll find the three tenets that drive our work in regards to teaching and learning:
- Regular core instructional programming
- Focus on high quality instructional practices, especially in literacy, to increase performance across all content areas
- Gap closing and at-risk intervention programming
- Focus on effective intervention strategies and systems of support for students
- Social-emotional wellness programming
- Provide systems of support for behavior that foster students' readiness to learn
