MTSS

MTSS (Multi-Tiered Systems of Support)

Multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) is a structure that helps educators provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional strategies to support students with various needs.

MTSS uses data to make timely decisions related to program involvement as well as high-quality instruction and intervention.

MTSS is a tiered system, meaning it provides a continuum of support, starting with universal evidence-based core instruction (Tier 1) and moving to more supplemental and targeted interventions (Tiers 2 and 3) as needed.

MTSS grew out of the integration of other research-based frameworks like Response to Intervention (RtI) and PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports).

MTSS provides a process for Greeneview Schools to identify struggling students early and intervene quickly.

Shared leadership in MTSS fosters a team-based approach where leadership responsibilities are distributed, providing for more effective interventions and improved student outcomes. This collaborative effort ensures that MTSS is implemented consistently across all levels (district, school, classroom, and individual student).
